to sum up my trip to hawaii in a blog would be kind of ridiculous, so here is a list of some highlights!
mai tais, mai tais, mai tais. at duke's kauai, tiki's waikiki, haleiwa joe's on the north shore... def the tropical drink of choice.
tuna poke (pronounced pokey). sashimi ahi tossed in sesame seed oil, scallions, garlic, and sesame seeds. i had tuna poke almost EVERY day. Actually, that is a lie. I had poke EVERY day.
best sushi in my life: yanagi's. poke was like butter. fish was as fresh as humanly possible. the chefs japanese gurus. simply the best. was AMAZING.
kauai. maybe the most beautiful place on earth. it was incredible. everything about the kauai trip was magical. will never forget it. if you get totally spoiled after visiting the most amazing place on earth? blame it on kauai.
snorkeling on the north shore. sea urchins, crazy colored fish, and being in total awe and taken back to the age of 2. it was just incredible. i was gasping in amazement under water... i barely could get air through my snorkel i was so stoked! and i picked up a sea urchin. yep.
hawaiian slang... called pidgin. garenz ball barenz!! which means guaranteed / for sure! as in, that poke at yanagi's was da kine, garenz ball barenz!
photos... the photos oh julie turned out great. check out her music HERE... new music coming in 09! and she happens to be one amazing tour guide.
sea turtles! i saw sea turtles! i was stand up paddling... standing up on a 12 foot longboard with an oar... and i saw sea turtles cruising around... was amazing!
the napali coast on kauai... just unreal. hiked to hanakapiai beach. paradise???
didn't even know what day it was the whole trip. i was really feelin the aloha spirit.
fresh coconuts and a big hawaiian dude named Tin Tin with a machete carving us some beverages. and then a dude like hank hill stepped up and took photos, and asked him to hold the knife up... like, "bobby, just act natural for me and hold that knife up a little higher". it was hilarious.
the marriott in kauai... beach resort. sooooo nice. after 4 mai tais, finding the room was way more fun. those mai tais sneak up on you. and they are quite delicious.
roosters. everywhere. running around, hanging out, cocka-doodle-doing at all times of the day.
SUPER ONO fresh picked starfruit, guava, coconut, papaya, lilikoi, pineapple... yum!
Romy's shrimp and prawn shack. with fresh pineapple. ONOLICIOUS! garenz bruddah!
korean bbq, kimchee for new years luck (it's close to sauerkraut), homemade japanese udon noodles... asians everywhere and me maybe the only redhead on the island??? love it!
meeting some rad people in the surfing culture, and staying a night in a house on the north shore and taking bikes out and cruising everywhere!
went to the beach 11/12 days!!!!!
and last but not least... the kalapaki leg spreader. what!? watch out!
overall, an amazing host, incredible asian food, the best beaches in the world.... i want to live there someday! GARENZ BALL BARENZ!

Wow, what a cool trip. I share alot of the same experiences you did visiting Hawaii, although the one experience that stands out in my mind was the plane trip home with second degree sunburn on my back. to my surprise, there is such a thing as too much sun.
sounds like a dream world. i'm so jealous!
