green lights in april. from the vaults - circa 2001. sums up college!

In April of 2001, a documentary was made that aimed to answer the question "what is indie rock?", as well as exploring the world of the band known as Superstar, and later known as This Holiday Life. This short film captured the spirit of Camp Stewart, the college residence of some of the guys featured in the film. Lines from this documentary have subsequently been quoted for the past 8 years, and now "green lights in april" is on the web for the first time.

This was the first video project ever produced by rusty ralston. It is, appropriately, extremely lo-fi and very indie rock.

very indie rock indeed. But who the hell is "Superstar?" And who is that mystical figure on the couch with the acoustic guitar on his lap? That guys seems like a wise old sage trapped in a young college boy's fiery Iranian body.
